Custom Paint Pricing

Brass Steam Locomotives:

Here is what you get:

Locos are test run to determine if there are any binds and then tuned up. I can get most steam to run very well at all speeds. The loco and tender is then completely disassembled. The parts are then striped and sand blasted to remove the lacquer and to prepare the surface for paint. Everything is then cleaned down in preparetion for paint.

Premium paint (up to two colors) decaling and choice of flat, satin or gloss finish.

wheels & valve gear also get painted unless you specify not to.

light weathering (if desired).

couplers installed on tender and pilot (where possible, see below). Kadee Number 58 (Ho scale) or Microtrains number 1015 (n scale)

Constant / directional headlight (on locomotive only).

Minor repairs (loose or detached parts) will be reattached at no cost.

Real coal (finely ground) in the coal bunker.

complete cab glazing.

2 hand painted crew men installed in cab.

Sound decoder, driver cam and speaker installation will need to be estimated on an individual basis.

Pilots that have no provisions for a coupler may be modified. The cost is about $20 if it is possible. It will be determined once The locomotive is inspected. If the pilot is set up for a coupler, or the conversion is minor, it will be installed free of charge.
